Mandevilla is a lush climber that produces rich coloured flowers during warmer months. Mandevillas will grow in part shade to full sun in most soil types but it’s important to ensure good drainage. Be sure not to over water as roots can rot. Cut back to the preferred shape and height after flowering in autumn, or cut hard to promote new growth and flowers. Fertilize in spring.
An attractive evergreen climber if given a frame or structure to do so but will happily retain a shrub like form if not. Long lasting flowers in the warmer months, generally starting early summer. In colder regions potted mandevillas can make good indoor plants over the winter months if placed near a sunny window.
