Description
| Pyrus calleryana Capital is a fast growing, narrow form of ornamental pear. This attractive deciduous tree produces dark green foliage that change to a brilliant red-purple before falling in late autumn, providing stunning colour variation and contrast. During spring this variety blooms an abundance of white flowers, softening the overall appearance. The narrow growth habit makes it ideal for use in space restricted areas, for public plantings and along narrow median strips. Plant in an area of full sun, with moist well drained soils. This variety will tolerate dry conditions once established and requires low maintenance. Prune if desired to maintenance clearance under canopy.
